Starting this September with the new ecclesiastical and academic year, we are looking to redesign and revive our Youth Ministries! On the first Monday of every month we will gather for a small prayers service, then proceed to Youth Ministry meetings for our GOYA (9-12th grade), Jr. GOYA (6-8th Grade), and JOY (3-5th Grade). Each group will then break off into their own meetings supervised by a parent adviser and with the help and spiritual guidance of Fr. James, Fr. Timothy, and Yianni. These brief, 1-hour meetings will allow our youth to take ownership of their own ministry by planning events and philanthropies while growing together in Christ as well as gaining leadership skills. We are very excited about this new format and are thankful for your prayers and support!
ABOUT YOUTH MINISTRIES
The mission and goal of youth ministry is to lead our young people into experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith. By developing a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and becoming active sacramental members of the living Church, our young people will be equipped with tools necessary to assist them in their journey toward salvation.
GOYA, Jr. GOYA, and JOY are ministries of the Church. It is not an organization or club, it is simply the faithful of the Church who share the same grades, ages and common interests. It is a spiritual ministry, based on the theological tenets of the Orthodox Christian Faith.
