20 Feb Oratorical Festival Showcases Young Talent
Annunciation youth deliver a series of facinating speeches to Sunday audience.Under the leadership and direction of the Annunciation’s own Koula Gianulias, a number of young community members exhibited marvelous displays of rhetoric on Sunday, expressing profound knowledge of their faith and traditions in the annual St. John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival, which is organized at the national level by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.
The participants, consisting of 4th to 12th graders, offered speeches to the public during coffee-fellowship, touching on a variety of stimulating subjects dealing with youth and contemporary faith. This year, the Annunciation will be sending one candidate to its sister church in Modesto to compete at the regional level.
