20 Feb Prof. Constantinou Delivers Seminar on the Theotokos

Presbytera Dr. Jeannie Constantinou delivers outstanding seminar on the life & legacy of the Mother of God.

Back again this year due to popular demand, the Annunciation Philoptochos under the chairmanship of Dessie Chuchas hosted Presbytera Jeannie from the University of San Diego for the annual Philoptochos Lenten Retreat. 

Examining the place of the Mother of God in the Orthodox Faith, Presbytera Jeannie took her audience on a journey through the Gospels and the Holy Fathers, delivering both a critical analysis of the differences among Christian denominations regarding her reverence as well as exposing contemporary trends in academia for their overly ambitious acceptance of apocryphal texts and their disregard of historically established hermeneutical priorities.

Her convincing manner of presentation as well as ability to intimately engage her audience with discussion contributed significantly to the illuminating and instructive environment.
