20 Feb Sunday of the Holy Cross & Presentation by HC/HC Admission’s Director
Congregation is visited by Holy Cross Director of Admissions, Greg Floor, during Sunday liturgical celebration.Celebrating the Sunday of the Holy Cross, the Annunciation community warmly welcomed Greg Floor, the Director of Admissions & Alumni Relations of Holy Cross/Hellenic College in Brookline, Massachusetts, the only accredited Orthodox institution of higher learning in the United States.
With the blessing of His Emminence, Metropolitan Gerasimos of San Francisco, Mr. Floor was visiting Orthodox parishes in the region, preaching on both the apostolic as well as academic missions of our schools.
Following his short presentation before the communion of the faithful, the Divine Liturgy (according to our Father among the Saints, Basil the Great) came to a most auspicious conclusion with the procession of the Holy Cross. Prostrating before the triumphal image of our crucified Lord, the children were invited to the solea to be the first to venerate His holy image. The beautiful spring daffodils upon which the Cross lay were then distributed to the faithful as a token of encouragement, having succesfully reached this mid-point of the Lenten season.
